Ruth was a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and homemaker. Ruth was very talented, creative, and detail oriented in every project she worked on. Most people associate her with her crochet work which she did. She worked as a secretary, computer programer for tracking student grades, and a librarian at San Antonio Christian Schools. For six months served as a secretary in the administration office of Incarnate Word College. She played piano at Northeast Bible Church in San Antonio for a number of years. She was at her best when she worked on her craft projects. Several times she completed a project but only to take it apart because she missed a stitch or some color did not match. She came up with creative designs changing patterns used. She sold these on Amazon and E bay. In the last few years she has spent extended periods of time taking care of her father prior to his death and her mother.
Ruth was survived by her husband, Gary Lynn Christensen; daughters, Nicole (Niki) Waggoner [Chris Waggoner] and Elizabeth (Beth) Smart [Randy Smart]: brother, Daniel Hunsberger [Karen Hunsberger]: mother: Roberta Hunsberger; grandchildren, Gary Smart, Justin Smart, Trevor Waggoner, Brianna Waggoner, Tyler Smart, and Brandon Waggoner; mother and father in law, George and Juanita Christensen. Her father, Joseph Paul Hunsberger pre-deceased her.
