Sylvia Marie Rochester

Sylvia Rochester age 62 of Bertram passed away without pain on September 19, 2017, surrounded by the people she loved most. Sylvia was born May 26, 1955, in Syracuse, New York to Fred and Margaret Cruikshank Clark where she grew up and attended High School and attended college. At age 21 she moved to Austin where she worked for many years for the Texas Department of Public Safety. Sylvia married Bob Rochester on December 22, 1990, and in 1995 they moved to Bertram where she has since lived.

For many years Sylvia worked at First State Bank in Burnet. She also was employed for the Burnet CISD as a substitute teacher and spent years providing care to her step-father, mother, and mother-in-law as their health declined. Since 2013 Sylvia spent more time as a homemaker as her health declined. She very much enjoyed arts and crafts of all kinds and her home was always full the things she made.

Sylvia will be missed by her husband Bob Rochester, her children Casey Rochester and Carrie Allden, and granddaughter Elizabeth Marie Allden. Sister Sherry Osborne, and niece Samantha Osborne and nephew Cory Clark. She also leaves behind her father-in-law Bob Rochester, Sr., and brother-in-law Kenneth Rochester.

At the request of her family no public service will be held. A private gathering of her family will be held later. Memorial contributions in memory of Sylvia should be made to the American Diabetes Association or to your favorite charity or organization.
