

Hollis Wayne McClinton, 64 of Buchanan Dam went home to Heaven on January 1, 2016. He had battled cancer for a short time and went peacefully. Wayne was born January 10, 1951, in Hubbard, Texas to Gerald Lee McClinton and Sybil Polk McClinton. Wayne was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam era. He lived in Buchanan Dam and the local area for about the past 15 years. He had also lived and worked in Port Aransas for several years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt arrowheads. He was a carpenter by trade and worked with his son Jay in his custom wood flooring business.
Survivors include Sons and daughters-in-law Jay McClinton and wife Troye of Buchanan Dam and Matt McClinton and wife Loretta of Burnet. Wayne is also survived by his adopted children Charles Travis and wife Neeley of Burnet and Tammy Copsetta and husband Jeff also of Burnet, brother Jimmy Dale McClinton of Buchanan Dam and sister Katherine Hernandez of Waco. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Karline and Karen, brother Jerry McClinton and grandson Daniel McClinton.
A memorial service for Wayne will be held Thursday, January 7 at New Life Fellowship Church in Burnet. Condolences may be offered to www.clementswilcoxburnet.com
