She spent her young life in Oklahoma, and moved with her parents to Concord, Calif., after her high school graduation in Oklahoma.
She met and subsequently married Lester James Warner, a member of the U.S. Navy at the time. L.J. Warner later exited the Navy and became a civilian
contractor, who traveled the world working on classified projects while Sarah stayed at home raising their three children, Carolyn, James Robert, and Patricia Warner.
During the 1970s L.J. Warner was able to retire early and pursue his interests in hunting and fishing. L.J. and Maxine moved to their home in Cassel, Calif.,
in 1974, while Patricia, their youngest daughter, finished high school in Burney, Calif. While they were in Cassel, they were retired, but far busier than expected. Lester worked on many local construction and electrical projects for the neighbors and Maxine became very involved with the church and
community.
They enjoyed 64 years of married life until the passing of Lester a couple of years ago. Maxine’s health had begun to decline somewhat after his death, and she followed him to her final rest on Dec. 19, 2014.
Maxine is survived by a sister Oleta Chaffin, now residing in Oklahoma, her daughter Carolyn Page Stalnaker of Modesto, Calif., her son James Robert Warner of Madera, Calif., and her youngest daughter, Patricia, who now resides in Brenham, Texas. She was also a proud grandmother of four, Julie
Tsuri and Stephanie McCully, James Robert Warner, Jr. and Michael Warner. Maxine also cherished her six great grandchildren, Sabryin Camacho-Page,
Khara and Emily McCully, and Corrine, Brianna and Kaitlyn Tsuri. Maxine’s very dear friend Melinda Brumbah bears mention as ‘extended family’
because none of her children resided near Burney. Melinda remained a faithful friend and helper to Maxine and the family until the very end.
Services for Maxine will be held at the graveside at Burney Cemetery, on Jan. 2, 2015, at 2 p.m.
