Our Brent will be remembered in many ways. He valued a strong work ethic and excelled in his various vocations. He enjoyed jogging, singing out loud, watching a football game, eating sushi, and his four-legged companion, Ringo. Brent never stopped moving! He drew people to him with his charm and his wit. He loved to tease and poke fun. We’ll never forget that mischievous smile. He was an energetic host, eager to have people over to eat and celebrate various family events. As the nieces and nephews came, he embraced them with his whole heart, finding pure joy in interacting with them, and always with humor. Despite his struggles, he loved his family and gave generously to all of us. A free hotel stay, a paid dinner, a drop-off of donuts or bagels, a birthday gift, a quick visit. He was thoughtful. When his daughter, Alyse, was born, we witnessed the powerful, sacrificial love of a father for his daughter. Brent strove to move mountains to make Alyse feel loved and cherished. She brought him the utmost joy, and he never wasted a minute with her. Towards the end of his life, he met a sweet lady named Stephanie, and we are thankful for the love and memories they made together.
Losing Brent was unexpected, and we will never be the same. Words like "grief" and "sadness" do not suffice in describing our pain. We will hold fast to the sweet memories we have of Brent and find comfort in knowing that he is free in the arms of Jesus. It's in Jesus that we have hope!
