Carl was born December 23, 1949 to Albert and Anna (Olszewski) Johnson. He lived, until recently, on the family dairy farm in Dorr, MI. Carl loved working with the cows, and listening to Tigers baseball, and old time country Western music on WSM, the “Grand Old Opry” station. He had a great knowledge of baseball and country music that he shared with everyone. Carl also treasured his St. Mary’s Catholic Church community, where he had attended church his entire life, and sang in the choir. For a short time, he sang with the Luke Lenhart Country Band, which he was very proud to have done.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Anna Johnson. Carl was a beloved brother and uncle. He is survived by brother, Robert (Constance, also known as Dee) Johnson; sister, Carol Walcott; nieces Camala (Bob) Jorstad, Amanda (John) Kirk, Julie (Al) Morley, Karen Johnson, Lisa (Jeremy) Gwynne, and Deborah Johnson. He was a great-uncle to his nieces and nephews Andrew Kirk, Brian Kirk, Allyson (Derek) Kunkel, Tanner Gwynne, Megan (Donovan) Riley, and Nicole (Jacob) Mize.
Carl lived his entire life on the family farm, for many years as a bachelor, because of the caring and help of many special friends: Pat and Ron Zomerlei, Jeff and Karen Lenhard, Joani and Paul, Neesee, Dave, Sue, Cheri, Bev, Luke, Lewis, Father Steve, and so many more. He happily shared his many memories of you. Thank you for your friendship; as Carl would say, “God Bless You!!" He’s now “Doin’ Good!” in his heavenly home.
