Daniel Jon DeVries was brought into this world by God September 29, 1961 and brought home again on January 12, 2022. His parents Jay and Marcia DeVries (nee Vander Wal) were there to welcome their son into glory. Hazel DeVries, his loving wife and companion; daughters Iris, Lily, and Jasmine; and son, Joshua continue his legacy and he is sorely missed. His brothers Dave (Barb) DeVries, Douglas, and Michael (Lynda) will miss his loving and giving heart, his laughter deep from his belly up to his smiling eyes - full-bodied and contagious - and his loving humor. He is also in the memories of his large extended family; nephews, nieces, aunts and uncles, cousins, and all of the De Vries and Vander Wal families. Dan will also be missed by his Gun Lake church family, his friends, and his business associates and clients.
Dan loved music and had jobs from selling for various music stores, his venture into his own store Radio Kilroy, his work in sales at Kent Moving, and his own tax service and online music sales business. Dan enjoyed selling and talking with everyone, which fit his outgoing personality to a T. Dan was born in the Chicago area, and grew up as a child in Orange City, Iowa, and finished his middle grade and high school years in Byron Center and Grand Rapids. He was a graduate of Calvin College. With loving memory, we give him to God and hold him dear in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th St., Byron Center, MI 49315, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. The family welcomes memories and messages in their guest book online at www.cookcaresbyron.com.
