

Don Schreur, age 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 20, 2025. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Schreur and son, Lenny Schreur. He is survived by his wife, Mae Schreur; Don's children Dennis and Nancy Schreur, Kenneth Schreur, Steve and Judy Schreur; daughter-in-law, Carla Schreur; grandchildren Kimberly Barr (Jeff), Andrew Schreur (Tara), Peter Schreur (Annie), Karen Hoekstra (Todd), Jennifer Cary (Dan), Kara Fraser (Glen), Kristen Schreur, Derek Schreur (Michelle), Natalie Tanner (Tyce), Nicole DeHaan (Jake); great-grandchildren Moriah Pafford (Brien), Annah Cauley (Sean), Samuel Barr (Faith), Zachary Barr (Heidi), Colton Schreur, Ava Schreur, Meg Schreur, PJ Schreur, Joe Schreur, Rylee Schreur, Charlie Schreur, Lauren Hoekstra, Jack Hoekstra, Eden Hoekstra, Josh Cary, Noah Cary, Harley Cary, Matilda Cary, Liam Fraser, Eli Fraser, Declan Schreur, baby boy Schreur due in November, Bristol Tanner, Wayne Tanner, August Tanner, Autumn DeHaan, Benjamin DeHaan; great-great-grandchildren Luke and baby girl Barr due in August; sister, Esther and Harold Huizenga; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Don is also survived by Mae's children Robert and Pat Stuitje, Linda and Ed Bueche; grandchildren Brian Stuitje (Amy), Jamie Bart (Kirk), Kyle Bueche, Stephanie Bueche; great-grandchildren Keith Borek (Katelyn), Lauren Kent (Drew), Drew Stuitje, Reagan Bart, Carson Bart; great-great-grandchildren Trip Borek, Duke Borek, Mack Borek, Vallie Borek, Kingsley Kent, Kartor Kent. He is preceded in death by Mae's infant son, Douglas J. Stuitje; son, Douglas Lee Stuitje; grandson, Andy Stuitje
Don proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He had an unconditional love for his family and was blessed to have shared that love with both of his wives. Don worked for years at Michigan Consolidated Gas Co. and then after that enjoyed working as a handyman in his retirement. Don loved his cars and was very fussy in caring for them.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at First Byron CRC, 8541 Byron Center Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 26, with visitation one hour prior, at First Byron CRC.
