Dorothy Marie Allen

Dorothy Marie Allen, age 98, went to be with her Lord Monday, March 21, 2022. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Allen; son, Jerry Allen; parents Edward and Jeanette Boone; brother-in-law, Charles Snyder. She will be remembered by her children Jay (Lisa) Allen, Sally (Dan) Schoenborn; grandchildren Mark Schoenborn, John Schoenborn, Howard (Jeannette) Allen, Renece (Jim) Termolen, Candy (Joshua) Levering; sisters Erma Snyder and Jean (Al) Pepper; multiple great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Arlene Allen; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Dorothy enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels; driving school bus for over 33 years; Home Extension of Kent County; worshiping at Woodhaven Reformed Church; and interacting with Goodwill. She was an avid bowler, traveler, and card player.

Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, March 27, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home, 2067 84th Street SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will commence at 11 a.m. Monday, March 28, 2022 at Cook Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior at 10 a.m. Pastor Tim Medendorp will be officiating. A luncheon will follow at Carlisle United Methodist Church, 1084 76th Street SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Interment will be at Forest Grove Cemetery.
