He will be lovingly remembered by his children Amy and Jeff Foutz, Christopher Nyenhuis, Brent and Amanda Dykstra, and Maelia and Jason Post.
He was so proud and full of love for his grandchildren Allyson and Stefanie Foutz; Kayla Dykstra, Ashley and Blake Pols, Tyler, Makenna, and Luke Dykstra; Cameron and Madison Post; and his great-grandchildren Keegan and Jack Dykstra and Gemma Pols.
Jim had a wide circle of friends who became family because of his kind, generous heart and quick wit.
He had a love for playing golf and fastpitch softball, and when his body failed him later in life, he loved watching sports and was the biggest cheerleader his grandchildren had. He kept everyone well fed with his famous lasagna, pies, and other baked goods.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lois and Donald Dykstra and his sister, Judy Potter. He is survived by his siblings Harvey Potter, Terry and Shirley Dykstra, Rick and Marylu Dykstra, Sally and Larry Prusinowski, Craig and Jo Dykstra, Sandy and Steve Ormiston, and Brad and Cricket Dykstra; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held from 12-2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Peppino’s of Allendale, 5065 Lake Michigan Drive. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
