Joyce was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed knitting and in her later years knitted hats and scarves which were donated to Love Your Neighbor Inc. Joyce and Willard vacationed in Florida for several weeks each year for a number of years. They also enjoyed a two-week vacation to Hawaii to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
Joyce and Herb did a lot of traveling with their fifth-wheel camper covering much of the United States and Canada and made an 11-week trip to Alaska with the fifth-wheel. She could always make us laugh and especially enjoyed teasing grandchildren and great-grandchildren to get them laughing along. Joyce enjoyed sharing her love and faith with her family; she was a very giving and sharing person. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and others who knew her, but we rejoice knowing that she is now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Manor, where Joyce and Herb have been living for the last four years, for their compassionate, Christ-centered care. We would also like to thank the staff of Corewell Health Hospice West Michigan for their excellent comfort care these past months.
Visitation with friends and relatives will take place from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Bethany United Reformed Church, 5401 Byron Center Ave. SW, Wyoming, MI 49519. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, with visitation one hour prior, at Bethany United Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers and in memory of Joyce, memorial contributions may be made to Corewell Health Hospice of West Michigan. The family welcomes memories and messages at www.cookcaresbyron.com in their guestbook online.
