Marie Stein was the heart of our family. A proud homemaker and a truly fabulous mother. Marie’s life was defined by the simple, beautiful things she loved most: her family, country music, baking, a good game of cribbage, and tending to her yard and flowers. Nothing made her happier than a house full of her kids and grandkids.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Stein (married 59 years); parents Leonard and Lura Schaendorf; sister, Margaret Olson; brothers-in-law John Schwartz, Bryce Olson, and Larry Antecki; sister-in-law, Phyllis Stein.
She leaves behind a loving legacy in her three daughters and their families: Lisa (Todd) Baker, Lynda (Marshael) Nations, and Marcia (Steve) Southard. She was the proud grandmother to Kurtis (Kenzie) Baker, Fr. Nicholas Baker, Morgan Baker, Olivia (Nathan) Weiss, Carson Weiss, Duncan (Renee) Southard, Alex Southard, Carly Southard, Kelsey (Manthan) Kimmane, Kourtney (Michael) Batora, and Justin (Ariel) Nations. Her light continues to shine in her great-grandchildren Brooks, Scottie, Owen, Oliver, Liam, and Henrick. Marie is also survived by her siblings Leonard (Connie) Schoendorf, Michael (Pauline) Schaendorf, and Norma Oakley; and her in-laws Burrell Stein, Sr. Marjorie Stein, Bernadette Antecki, Ken (Margaret) Schwartz, and Rosemary (Calvin) Wolters.
