Richard Van Baren, age 84, was taken to glory by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, December 10, 2021. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Agalene Van Baren; second wife, Sylvia Van Baren; brother, Gise Van Baren; sisters Eileen Hauck and Alice Van Baren; and brothers-in-law Don Hauck, Edward Miedema, and Don VanOverloop.
He is survived by his children Dave and Nancy Van Baren, Bryan and Elizabeth Van Baren, Nancy and Loren Gritters, Marcia and Marvin Gritters, Richard and Shawna Van Baren, Kathy and Michael Miller, and Kevin and Nicole Van Baren; 32 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; siblings Clara Van Baren, John and Judy Van Baren, and Ruth and Tom Oosterhouse; in-laws Lorraine Miedema, Correne VanOverloop, Gary and Carol Lubbers, Joan and John Bouma, Andy and Judy Brummel, Trude and Ade Lenting, Al and Sharon Brummel, Delma and Dale Post, Twyla and Glen Griess, Joe and Mary Brummel, Gleny and Ken Feenstra; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial service will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at First Reformed Protestant Church, 1675 Baldwin St., Jenison, MI 49428, with visitation from 6:30-7:30 p.m. prior to service.
