Born February 23, 1932 in Glasgow Scotland, Pat was a gifted seamstress and devout member of her Roman Catholic faith tradition. She is warmly remembered for her sense of fun and adventure, her warm hospitality, and the pleasure she found in simple things. She loved to walk and was known affectionately within the family as the ‘white flash’. At 73, she completed the Toronto Waterfront half-marathon. At 78, she hiked 600km across France and Spain on the Camino de Santiago. Pat will be sorely missed by her best friend and devoted husband of 60 years, Bill, and her children Caren (Dave) Gorth, Patricia (Brian) Dotzert, Anthony Benham, and Joanne (Martin) Benham Rennick and nine grandchildren. Pat was predeceased by her parents John and Josephine Convery, and her brother-in-law Owen Cryans. Her much-loved twin brother John (Kathleen) Convery, cherished sister Marie Cryans, and many dear nieces and nephews in Scotland share our sadness. Friends and family in Canada will celebrate her life in a Mass of Christian Burial in her parish of St. Ambrose in Cambridge Ontario on Wednesday, December 19 at 11:00 am. Siblings, nieces and nephews in Scotland will celebrate a Mass at her childhood parish of St. Aloysius in Garnethill, Scotland Wednesday, December 19 at 12:30 pm.
Though she will be sorely missed, we are forever enriched by the grace, joy, dedication and generosity of spirit that were the hallmarks of her life.
