Anne leaves behind her loving children Carol Lantz (John Stewart), Janice Lantz (Paul) and Mark Griffiths (Jia). Anne was a proud grandma to three grandchildren Jeremy, Matthew (Jenna) and Meng; and a great-grandma to Charlotte Anne and Grace Shirley. She will also be greatly missed by her sister Erma Wimmer. Anne is now reunited with her husband of 56 years Orel Griffiths (2011); her sister Martha McCrystal; and her parents.
Anne dedicated her working life to various roles that showcased her commitment to her community – she worked in sales in the textile industry, at Miracle Food Mart, and as a crossing guard for the City of Cambridge.
Anne had a passion for travel that took her and her late husband all around the world. Whether cruising or visiting China, Australia or Cuba, Anne explored the world with a curious heart and an open mind. She traveled across Canada and the United States, making many stops at casinos along the way.
Anne will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit at home, too - she was active and enthusiastic in her games of Euchre and Rummoli with long-time friends. Some of Anne’s favourite times included square dancing with her late husband with the “Swinging Eights”, playing as part of her bowling league, and golfing (which she did well into her golden years). Her social nature extended into the neighbourhood, where she could frequently be spotted walking her beloved dog Brandy. In her later years, Anne embraced the freedom of her scooter, and was often seen scooting around the subdivision.
Above all, Anne leaves behind a legacy of love. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who are grateful for the beautiful memories she created with them through her long and extraordinary life.
The family wish to extend a heartfelt thank-you to all the staff at Seasons Retirement Community, for the kindness and professional care they showed Anne during her time with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation in Anne’s name to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cambridge & District Humane Society, or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Anne’s life will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 26th 2024, where the family invites all who knew her to join them in remembering the remarkable woman she was. A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street. Anne’s funeral service will begin at 2:00 pm, and a reception will follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
