

On Christmas evening at the age of 92, Annie passed away peacefully. She was surrounded by family and loved ones at Hilltop Manor in Cambridge, Ontario. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas “Tam” Herning, her brother Joe Holms and sisters May Shaw & Nellie Watkins. She leaves behind a wonderful legacy of family and friends that will all remember her fondly, including daughter Gina, son-in-law Rick, and grandsons Mike and Chris. Her love and memory will also be dearly remembered “back home” in Scotland by stepdaughter Nanette, stepson-in-law Billy, their children and all of Annie’s nieces, nephews and family. Also her nieces and nephews and their families across Canada. Annie was born on September 1st.1923 in Paisley Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1967 with her family. She began work at Cambridge Towel and then switching to Barrday, where she worked until retirement. Through work and building a new home in Canada, Annie made many close friends that she could always count on for love and support, becoming an extended family in the process. Annie’s family would like to thank Dr. Skillman and her staff for the professional and competent care that Annie received over the past 5 years . Many thanks also to the PSW’s that came to our house to care for Annie and allowed her to have these last years in her home. Annie’s family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, PSWs, and staff of Hilltop Manor for the dedication, care and support Annie received during her short time with them. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Wednesday December 30, 2015 from 6:30 to 7:30 P. M. A service for family and friends will follow at 7:30 P. M. to celebrate her life. As expressions of sympathy donations to Kidney Foundation or Diabetes Society would be appreciated by the family.
