

He was born on October 16, 1949, in Siderno, Italy, to Girolama Racco and Giuseppe Bartolo.
Cosimo was the beloved husband of Esterina Bartolo, whom he shared a devoted marriage with since 1977. He was a loving father to Antonella (Brad) and Joe Bartolo (Lea).
He will be forever remembered as Nonno by his cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Alicia, Christina, Siena, and Sofia.
As a brother to Filippo (Angela), Maria (Guillermo), Anna, and Antonio. His memory will also be held close by many extended family members and friends.
In 1968, Cosimo made the move to Canada where he began building his life and legacy. He worked at Ventra Tech for over 20 years. Outside of work, he enjoyed making his wine and tomato sauce and working in his garden, growing all sorts of vegetables. He enjoyed Sunday lunches with family and friends. He enjoyed watching wrestling and all of the Italian shows. He enjoyed his daily visits to Di Pietro’s for his fresh bread.
Relatives and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will take place the following day on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at St. Ambrose Church, 210 South Street, Cambridge, at 11 a.m. Cosimo will be laid to rest following the service at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to CARE KW, ParaMed, and all the staff at Cambridge Memorial Hospital who took such good care of him.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cosimo’s memory to the Parkinson’s Society and would be gratefully appreciated.
