Darrel Arlean Hawkshaw

Passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Innisfree House in her 75th year. She is together again with beloved husband Richard (1994) and son Rick (1983) after many years apart. Loving mother to Laurie, Mike, Cindy (Ray), Penny (Jim), Tim (Lisa) and Sam (Tuesday). Lovingly referred to as Grandma and Oma by 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Allan, Bonnie, Delores, Leora, Rodger and sister-in-law to Tommy (Geo). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Darrel was very devoted and an active member at Cornerstone Community Church serving on different committees in the past such as the Women’s Auxiliary. Being service oriented, she loved providing for others in whatever way she was able. Some of her favourite pastimes included reading, knitting and although she wasn’t one to sing she absolutely loved music. Friends and family will be received on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650). A Memorial Service will take place the following day on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Cornerstone Community Church, 10 Gatehouse Drive, Cambridge. There will be a private inurnment at Mount View Cemetery at a later date. A very special thank you to all of the wonderful nurses and PSW’s at Innisfree House. Any donations in Darrel’s memory may be made to Innisfree House and would be appreciated by the family.
