It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of David Stephen Patrick, who passed away peacefully at Hospice Waterloo on September 2, 2025, at the age of 79, with his daughters by his side.
Beloved husband of 27 years to the late Deborah, David was a devoted father to Terrisa and Nicole (Scott), and a proud, loving “Poppy” to Emily, Kyla, Maya, and Alia. He was predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Muriel, and his infant sister, Gayle.
David served with the Royal Canadian Dragoons as a member of the UN peacekeeping force in Syria in the 1960s.
A lifelong outdoorsman, David found great joy in hunting, fishing, and camping. A dedicated member and supporter of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters for over 40 years, he passed on his passion for the outdoors to his daughters. Many cherished summers were spent together camping, hiking, and fishing at Pinehurst, where David created lasting memories his family will forever hold close to their hearts.
When not outdoors, David found happiness in gardening, barbecuing, painting along with his mentor Bob Ross, and experimenting in the kitchen while watching the Food Network. He enjoyed cooking new recipes, sharing meals with loved ones, and relaxing with a glass of rum.
Known for his strength, willpower, and determination, David taught his daughters to always stay strong, never give up, and give their very best in all they do. His family will remember him as a kindhearted, good man with an unmistakable mustache and a heart full of love for his daughters and granddaughters. He never wavered in his devotion to his family, always finding ways to stay connected and present in their lives.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff and volunteers at Hospice Waterloo for their care and support.
Cremation has taken place, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
Fond memories and donations to the Cambridge & District Humane Society or the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society may be shared at www.couttsfuneralhome.com
Cheers Dad.
