David was born in Hamilton, Ontario, and later adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Serant of Kenora, Ontario. He is remembered by his father, Brian Serant, who welcomed him into the family and offered a foundation of care and stability.
Throughout his life, David called many places home, including Hamilton, Penticton, BC, Kenora, Dundas, and Cambridge. Each community shaped a part of his journey and gave him moments, memories and lessons that he carried with him.
David worked in broadcasting at a local television station, where his creativity and energy came to life. Outside of work, he had a love for trains, thrived in climbing, and brought heart to every game of basketball - always rooting for his team, the Toronto Raptors. Music was his constant companion, especially the powerful voice and spirit of DMX.
He is survived by his brother Marc, his father Brian, and his children. He will be missed by childhood friends Leo, Jansen and Mikey. David is now reunited with his beloved mother Theresa Serant (2011), and with his best friend Granville (2025).
David's story was uniquely his own - marked by movement, passion, and an independent spirit. He will be remembered in the way each person knew him, and for the path he walked on his own terms.
Cremation has taken place. An urn committal will take place on Tuesday, July 8th at 2:00 PM at Parklawn Cemetery, 750 Fountain Street North, Cambridge. This service will be open to all who wish to pay their respects. We kindly ask that all attendees honor this time with dignity and respect for the family as we remember David's life.
