In the early morning hours of October 8, 2025, Evangelos “Dedo” Bouktsis passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, he was 90 years, 8 months and one day old. Evangelos was born on February 7, 1935, in Agios Pantelimonos, Greece, to parents Pantelis and Evthokia Bouktsis.
Evangelos immigrated to Canada in 1967 through Pier 21 in Halifax and settled in Galt with his young family. He retired in 2000 from Walker Exhaust after 30 years of service. Survived by his wife of 65 years, Katerini, his daughters Anastassia (Gerry), Judy, and Kiki, as well as, his loving grandchildren Evan and Katerina. Fondly remembered by his sister Eleni, of Greece and the many cousins, nieces and nephews near and far. Predeceased by his brothers Anastasis, Evripidis and Nick. A loving and dedicated husband and father who always put his family first.
An avid gardener, collector of tools and a man with the ability to fix anything and everything. His sense of humour and story telling was legendary. He kept in touch with family across the world with his “yoyo”. He cheered on the Leafs and Blue Jays. Evangelos was a passionate man who loved fishing and travelling. He loved a daily afternoon nap followed by a Turkish coffee and a cigarette in the garage. Dedo will be dearly missed.
