Passed away peacefully at Lisaard House Cambridge on Sunday July 21, 2013 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Kathryn Butchart. Loving father of Carolyn Fallowfield (Gary) of Kitchener, Steven (Deb) of Cambridge. Also survived by his two grandsons Scott and Eric, and two brothers Robert (wife Annie deceased), John (Elsie) and his sister Jessie MacLean (John). Predeceased by his parents Gilbert and Chrissie Tait, and his brother Alex and his wife Marian. Gilbert was born in Cairnbulg Scotland on June 24, 1928 and has lived in Cambridge for the past 46 years. A member of St. John’s On the Hill United Church. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Coutts Funeral Home 96 St. Andrews St. Cambridge on Tuesday July 23, 2013 from 7-9 P.M. A Memorial Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday July 24, at 11 A. M. As expressions of sympathy donations to Lisaard House would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the Staff of Lisaard House for their special care of Gilbert.
