Born on July 26, 1937, in Lestock, SK, Ivy V. Periversoff (nee Kovacs), 87, of Cambridge, ON., passed peacefully on June 6, 2025, surrounded by her family and those she loved. She is preceded in death by her parents Elizabeth and John Kovacs, her brother Edward, and sisters Helen and Dorthy and by her husband Nick. Ivy is survived by her sister Linda Rienguette (nee Kovacs).
Raised in Galt, (Cambridge), Ivy attended Mill Creek Public School. She waitressed at the Iroquois Hotel and later in life she worked for Allen Bradley wiring electrical panels. While easy to befriend and always helpful she was also “spicy” to the very end, she was one “tough” gal as described by her friends. Ivy loved to bake and was known for her peach pies and her delicious Christmas cakes. She was always helpful to those needing assistance while shunning any publicity about her selfless actions.
Ivy and Nick have three children, John, wife Caroline, Peter, wife Liz, and Cathy whom they were very proud of. Ivy was also a devoted grandmother to Kristin, Karly, Natasha, Jessica, Corey, Melissa, Joanna, Kristen, Mikeal and Kassandra. She was a great grandmother to 14 children. Her family loved her beyond words and her passing will leave a void in their lives.
During her last four years of life, Ivy required medical care at Hilltop Manor where she made a wonderful impression on staff and residents alike. It was common to hear staff and residents talk about how wonderful she was. Ivy Viola Periversoff (nee Kovacs) will be missed by all that knew her and of her.
Her funeral service will be a family only celebration. Contributions, in her memory, may be made to Cambridge Memorial Hospital in lieu of flowers.
