Jose "Jack" Joaquim Sousa

With great sadness, the family announces that Jack passed away at Innisfree House on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of 51 years to Maria (Connie) Conceicao Correia Sousa. Loving father of Goretti Portela (Frank), Vera Heldmann (Daniel) and Celina Sousa (Nicolas Heldmann). Proud Papi to Gregory Tomada, Lilian Heldmann, Isabel Heldmann and Victor Heldmann. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends in Portugal, the Azores, France and Brazil. Jack worked at Shaver Poultry for more than 20 years. He loved music and he loved to garden. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff and volunteers of C.M.H. Medical Daycare, 3B Medicine, the Oncology Physicians and Innisfree House for their compassionate care. Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation at the T. Little Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, (519-623-1290) on Wednesday, June 8th from 2 - 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. Prayers will be said at 7pm. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. Burial at Parklawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation or Innisfree House would be appreciated by the family.
