Katherine Martha Ellis

Kathy was the most loving and incredible Mom to Terri and her husband Chris of Kelowna, BC. Kathy is survived by her sister Betty and her brother Fred (Katharine), brother-in-law Reg (Sandy) and by relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by and together once again with her loving husband, Bill, her parents Philip and Elizabeth Haug and brother Philip Haug.

To know Kathy was to love her! Kathy's personality was a force to be reckoned with. Never shying away from an opportunity to take charge or to help organize anything, Kathy will always be remembered for her willingness to lend a helping hand. She loved visits with family and held a very special place in her heart for each and every family member.

She and Bill loved to travel and sailed many nautical miles together on Windjammer cruises in the Caribbean with good friends.

Kathy also loved to read mystery novels and even kept a very organized logbook rating each book on a scale from 1-10!

Kathy was an active member in the Women's Probus Club of Cambridge Riverside where she was on the membership committee, helped with their newsletter, their book club and was a regular euchre substitute which sometimes had her playing cards several times a week.

She also attended and enjoyed helping in the kitchen at a monthly "Let's Do Lunch" in Ancaster where she connected with an old childhood friend and of course made many new ones.

Mom, I will miss you so much, but always remember that "I love you to the moon and back." xo

Sincere thanks to my husband Chris, my entire family and group of friends near and far who never stopped checking in on us, the nurses and doctors at ParaMed, and Lisaard House Hospice for their immediate kindness from the second Mom arrived to the moment she left us to be with my Dad. Rest easy Mama.

A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 from 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. at Coutts Funeral Home, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650).

In lieu of flowers, donations to Lisaard House Hospice and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
