Lila was born to Martha and Eleazer Bartlett; she was the second youngest of and last surviving of 11 siblings. Hearing the call for her country during WWII, Lila joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Chef. At the end of the war, she met and fell in love with the love of her life, Garnet William “Bill” Stagg (predeceased in 1994). They made their home in Cambridge, Ontario where they raised three boys, Jack (predeceased 2007), Doug (predeceased 1999) and Bob.
A homemaker and wife, Lila enjoyed her trips back East to see family and friends, cooking and gardening. In years to come, Lila was overjoyed with the additions to her family when Jack married Bonnie, Doug married Holly and Bob married Barb (predeceased 2013). She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Amary and Wallis, Gillian (Matt) and Lucas, Christina (predeceased 2004), Jen (Pete) and Matt and her great-grandchildren Nolan, Riley and Payton. Lila will be remembered fondly by many family and friends including Lloyd, Marge, Kathy and Jim, Brian, Gary & Debbie, and so many others that were fortunate to know her.
Lila was known for her baking, her beautiful gardens, and her love for her family. She was a proper lady, she was kind, and she was the strongest woman you could ever know.
