Laurie was the beloved wife of James, sharing 35 wonderful years together. Cherished daughter of Santa De Santis and the late Natalino De Santis. Dear sister to Marcello (Maria) De Santis and sister-in-law to Nancy (John) Scaramella and Joseph (Sherri) Colletti. Loving aunt to Luca, Bianca, Danielle, John, Katelyn, Alyssa, and Laurel. She will be lovingly remembered by her extended family and many dear friends.
Laurie will be remembered for her incredible selflessness, she always put others before herself. She had the biggest heart, a great sense of humour, and a determined, strong-willed spirit that inspired everyone who knew her. She made others feel special just by being around her.
Laurie loved to travel, a passion that led her to a career as a corporate travel agent. Together, she and James explored numerous countries, though her heart always belonged to Italy, where they returned year after year. She loved music, movies, shopping and was a wonderful cook who brought warmth and joy to her family gatherings.
Friends and family will be received at T. Little Funeral Home, 223 Main Street, Cambridge, on Thursday, November 13th, from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Cambridge, on Friday, November 14th, at 11:00 a.m., followed by entombment at Marymount Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations in Laurie’s memory may be made to the Toronto General Hospital or The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.
