

He was born in Faial, Açores, Portugal on April 13, 1931 and came to Canada in 1959. He was a founding member of the Portuguese Club of Cambridge, past member of the The Galt Kilty Band and a past member of The Portuguese Lira Espirito Santo Band of Cambridge. Past treasurer of the Hudac Builders Association of Cambridge. A parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Well known builder of custom homes throughout the Cambridge area since 1975.
Predeceased by his parents Manuel and Natalia De Vargas and his brothers Odilio N. De Vargas, Jose V. Correia and Herminio Vargas Correia. Leaving behind his loving wife of 60 years Maria Olivia De Vargas. Will be dearly missed by his brother Leonildo Correia (Dalva) and surviving sister-in-law’s Liduina De Vargas, Leonilda Correia, Maria Conceicao Correia and by many nieces, nephews and friends.
A funeral visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home (96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge) on Thursday April 25, 2019 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm with prayers at 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Friday April 26, 2019 at St. Ambrose Church (210 South Street, Cambridge) at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at Mount View Cemetery (80 Blenheim Rd, Cambridge). A reception will then follow at The Portuguese Club of Cambridge (870 Townline Road, Cambridge).
