Maria Argentina Tavares Santos

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Maria Argentina Santos at the age of 81. Born and raised in Pessegueiro do Vouga, Aveiro, Portugal, Maria was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Maria, known affectionately as Tina to many, was a proud and hardworking member of the Cambridge community. A talented seamstress and entrepreneur, she owned and operated Goldstein’s Fashions for many years, where her care and craftsmanship touched the lives of countless clients. Alongside her husband, Antonio, she also played a key role in the family-run Castelli Bakery, bringing warmth and dedication to everything she did.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband Antonio; her loving sons George (Kristie) and Glen (Nelia); and her cherished grandchildren Nicolas, Martina, Emilia, and Alex. She will be remembered for her strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her kind spirit and loyal friendship left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Coutts Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 22 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Fatima Roman Catholic Church, 185 Elgin Street South, Cambridge on Wednesday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at Mount View Cemetery. A reception will follow at the Oriental Sport Club, 1054 Shellard Side Rd, Cambridge.
