I am saddened to hear that you have lost Pam, so very sorry.  
 It's a bit of a  shock as she seemed the most likely person to live forever, so solid she was and brave, or at least that's how I remember her.  As we get older and we don't realize how much time has actually passed or how much others have truly meant to us. Pam is as much a part of my childhood as my family members were. Her entire family were very involved with my own from the early 1960's when they lived on Rouge Hill until the early 1980's when I saw her for the last time at a funeral home, standing in the foyer with tears in her eyes.
 
Our parents became friends after my father went to work for her dad as a truck driver. They used to drink together on a fairly regular basis and therefore we would see one another throughout the years. 

 She gave me my first set of barbies when she felt she had outgrown them and for my grade six school photo,  I wore a green velvet skirt and jacket she no longer needed but gave to me. She was kind, gentle, funny and so intelligent, but Pam was also like a little adult with so much responsibility far too early. There was a burden on her young shoulders that anyone could see if they truly looked. 

One summer day in 1975, stands out from all the rest. She and her mum Doris dropped in to see my mum and me. Pam got restless and suggested that we take a walk together through the neighborhood. After we'd gone about a block down the street,  she started to talk, sharing some intense things that were affecting her.  She seemed to know instinctively that I would always keep that confidence and I have. 

 Some people grace your life  for purposes that are deeper than any we understand at the time when we are  going about the business of living and making our memories.  

Thank you for your sweetness,  your humour, a ketchup spare ribs supper, the barbie parties,  talking on the TTC and sharing your heart. Love and peace be with you sweet Pamela. xo 

 

God looked around his garden and found an empty space! He then looked on earth and seen your tired face.He put his arm around you and lifted you to rest!Gods garden must be beautiful he takes the very best!He knew you were suffering.He knew you were in pain.He knew that you’d never get well on earth again.He saw the road was getting rough So he closed your eyelids and whispered “peace be thin”it broke our hearts to lose you but you didn’t go alone,for part of us went with you the day good took you home!Love always baby brother Lawrence RIP till we meant again sweet sister xo

One of my many fondest memories of Pamela is when we use to go the the Beiderman Farms for the yearly family get away for 2 weeks in July.  Pammie and I would share a room together and have our young girlie talks together giggling to all hours of the night and father banging on the wall telling the  two of us to keep it down.  Also Pamela and I went to high school  together and were in the same Business Procedures class together, Grade 12.  Also we were in the same gym class together.  One of the real special memories I have is when Pamela was graduating grade 13.  I had already graduated the year before and was working and dating Christopher.  Pamela was preparing for her big night, fixing her hair and makeup, and she looked totally gorgeous, as always.   Pamela was wearing a long maroon wine colored evening gown, she had a necklace with a rhinestone the exact same color as the dress.    Pamela asked me to clip the necklace on around her neck which I did.  I was very pleasantly surprised that when I went to see her for the last time just before her passing that she left this very necklace to me.   I wore it this year for my birthday that I had at my daughter Natalie's home as she had a birthday celebration dinner for me with her husband and son.  Unfortunately, due to covid the rest of my family could not attend.  Nat admired the necklace and I told her how it was her Auntie Pam's necklace that she wore on her graduation night and how she asked me to clip it on her.   I miss Pamela very much and she and Tim, along with Mother (Doris) and Father (Don) VanLuven must be sitting up in heaven right now and shaking their heads at the stupidity of all the inner turmoil and fighting going on in this family.   We are all getting older and time doesn't wait for us to come to our senses. It would be better if everyone in this family leave the past in the past and go forward, make their apologies for past mistakes and learn to ask and receive forgiveness. 

Hello Shawn and Victoria, I am your first cousin Robert Van Luven. I am the second son of Mike [Lorie] Van Luven.  It saddened me when my dad broke contact with aunt Pam. She and Uncle Tim were 2 of my favorite people. I was very young the last time I was with aunt Pam. Probably the late 70's early 80's. She was a   beautiful woman inside and out. I looked on Facebook here and there to see if I could find her, but I was again only young when she and Dave [ I think his name was] got married and could not remember or did not know her married name. I grew up in the same house Aunt Pam did with Tim and Larry, Grandpa and Gramma June. I remember her bedroom with a white make up vanity mirror in it and her hair brush on the right hand side and never thought anything of it until writing this memory... Aunt Pam took me and my brother on our first go train ride and we were so excited... I think she was more excited because she was giving this gift of a first experience to us. I remember her always smiling her long blonde hair and very little makeup... It saddens me greatly to find her this way. My father Mike has also stopped speaking with me and Googling him occasionally, to see if he has passed has led me to find Aunt Pam's and Uncle Tim's announcements. I know at one time in aunt Pam's life she had a strong belief in God and I hope I do not offend anyone by ending my note with a scripture that has brought me comfort in the passing of my mother-in-law and step son and Uncle Tim and many other who have passed over the years. The scripture gives me hope of a resurrection into a new system, a paradisiac new Earth where I will see all of my loved ones again who have passed away in death. The scripture can be found in Revelations 21:3-6 and in part reads this way: And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” ...

What an incredible spirit, she shared her sense of humour right into her final days. I am truly blessed to have shared time with her.
