Paul was born in Hoiping, China and immigrated to Canada when he was 16 years of age. Upon settling in Canada, he and his father started the family business, Georges Restaurant. After the passing of his father, Paul and his family continued the business currently in its 62nd year of operation. Paul devoted his life to his family and his extended family of employees. Paul developed numerous lifelong friends through the business including members of the Waterloo Regional Police, local business owners, customers and the Chinese community. Paul sponsored new immigrants to Canada and helped them transition to life in Canada. Paul enjoyed fishing, hunting and travelling. He most recently enjoyed a trip back to China with his family to visit his childhood village. There, they toured the largest and most prestigious private high school in Guangdong Province where the family funded one of the high school residences. Paul loved his cars and his licence plates which were as equally well known around town as the “# 18 Dinner for 1 with an extra egg roll” Paul will be sorely missed by his family and friends but his legacy will live on through his family and business. The family wishes to thank the people of Cambridge for their support and patronage throughout the years.
