After a long and courageous battle with illness, Raymond passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on October 20, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. He will be remembered for his unwavering kindness, quiet strength, and the great sense of decency in which he lived his life.
A devoted husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law, brother, uncle and grandad, Raymond found great joy in spending time with family, working in his garden, and watching soccer.
Raymond was born in 1946 in Willenhall, West Midlands, England and emigrated to Canada in 1980. He started his working life as a welder, before moving into a foreman position. Raymond was always well appreciated for his hard work, dedication and fairness by those he worked with.
He leaves behind his loving wife Kathryn, his sons Iain and Daniel, daughter-in-laws Sylvia and Yumiko, his granddaughter Lyliana, sister Christine and her husband Tony, his great friends Clare and Allan Barber, as well as extended family and friends here in Canada as well as in England, Japan and South Africa.
Raymond's wisdom, integrity and gentle sense of humour was loved by everyone who knew him.
