Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, at Lisaard House, Cambridge, on Saturday, October 8, 2011, at the age of 77, four years after his cancer was first diagnosed. He leaves behind Joanne, his beloved wife and best friend of 51 years. Loving Father to Tom (Mindi), Anne (Mark Coupland), Mike and Joe (Allan), loving brother to Brian (Sylvia), and devoted grandfather to Matthew, Andrew, Sarah, Jacob, Tyler and Trevor, he will be greatly missed, as he will by his brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews and many dear, dear friends. A dedicated teacher, Ross enriched the lives of generations of students at Glenview Park Secondary School in Cambridge. He was a wonderfully loving man with a quick wit, always a gentleman, with a tremendous passion for the written and spoken word. An avid curler at the Galt Country Club for over 40 years, Ross loved sports, music and the arts, and was always a pleasure to be with. Thank you for enriching our lives with your spirit, your humour, your wisdom and your smile. Visitation will be held at Coutts and Sons Funeral Home , 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge (519-621-1650) on Wednesday, October 12th, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, October 13th at St. Gregory's Church, 10 St. Gregory's Drive, Cambridge at 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Ross's Life at Galt Country Club, 750 Coronation Boulevard, Cambridge.
