Stephen Edward Murphy

After a courageous battle with cancer, on Friday November 6th, Steve passed away surrounded by his family and dear friends in his 53rd year. Loved to the moon and back by his wife Karen; adoring father of Stephen Jr. & Karley, and step father of Keisha; dearly loved uncle of Andrea Munch (Paul Oliver). Pre-deceased by his mother Edith Murphy (nee Clemens), father Stephen Murphy, sister Charmaine Munch (nee Murphy), and brother-in-law Ross Munch. Steve’s family roots, both Murphy and Clemens, run long and strong, hailing from Bell Island, NFL, with aunts, uncles and cousins who will dearly miss their loving “Tee-Dee”.

Everyone who met the ‘blue eyed boy’ immediately felt connected to him and his infectious smile, and his friendships stretched throughout his hometown of Cambridge, ON, to the four corners of the world, including lifelong bonds in Alberta, Newfoundland, and the UK, where he has left a never ending mark on the hearts of all he touched.

Family will receive visitors at Coutts Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 96 St. Andrews Street, Cambridge, on Thursday, November 12th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Funeral service to be held Friday, November 13th at 11am, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, 10 St. Gregory’s Drive, Cambridge; internment to follow at Mount View Cemetery, 80 Blenheim Road, Cambridge.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Hope Spring Cancer Centre of Kitchener, and requests everyone to please complete a donor card, to give the gift of life to all.
