

It is with deep sadness that the family of the late Susan Mary (Partridge) Carpenter, 59, announces her peaceful passing on December 12, 2011 in Cambridge, Ontario. Formerly of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Susan was a daughter of the late Doris and Walter Partridge, also predeceased by her brother Harold “Toby”. Susan is survived by her loving husband, Greg Carpenter, son Alexander (Annette), grandson Dylan, daughter Rebecca (James). She is also survived by siblings Walter, Patsy Smith (Doug), Nancy Ainslie (Rae), Dilly MacFarlane, William, Christine Reti, Ruth Partridge and Scott (Candace) as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Growing up in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Susie was a faithful member of St. John’s Anglican Church in Fairview where she was involved with Girl Guides, AYPA, and taught Sunday School. During her high school at Halifax West, she was chosen to sing in the honor choir at Expo ’67. Throughout her early married years in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Susie played recreational softball, served on PTA executives and taught tole painting classes. After moving to Cambridge, Ontario, Susie continued her faithful church service through her involvement in the Trinitarians, the Servers’ Guild, leading the Youth Group at Trinity Anglican Church as well as holding a position as directress of the Altar Guild. Susie also served as Associate Conductress of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rose of Sharon Chapter – District 20. After graduating from Conestoga College, Susie worked for 15 years at Babcock & Wilcox as a legal assistant, where her career was cut short due to ill health. During the following years, Susan was lovingly tended by her husband and children.Following cremation, Susan’s remains will be resting at the T. LITTLE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 223 Main Street, Cambridge (519-623-1290) where visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm.Funeral Service will be at TRINITY ANGLICAN CHURCH, 12 Blair Road, Cambridge on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Memorial Service and interment will follow at a later date in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Susan’s memory to Cambridge Memorial Hospital MRI Fund.
