Passed away suddenly, but peacefully, at home on January 12, 2017 in her 86th year. Loving wife of the late Andrew Braid (1987). Beloved mum of Alison Floreani (Brian) and Janice Howison (Bob). Cherished Nan to Melissa (Garry), Alyssa (Chris), John (Sheila), Meg (Liz) and great grandchildren Sophia, Ally, Gavin, Nora and Sam. She will be sadly missed by her only sister Betty Smales, and brothers in-law Joe Smales and Tom Braid. Sylvia was a piano teacher for 50 years and loved teaching her many students and they loved her. For most of those 50 years she was the church organist and choir director at St. Giles, St. James, and most recently St. Paul's. She loved travelling, baking, reading, watching her British shows, and playing bridge. Mum was a generous, giving, and kind person and loyal friend to many. But most of all she loved spending time with her family. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be celebrated at Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, 63 Grand Avenue North, Cambridge on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by her family. Arrangements entrusted to the T. Little Funeral Home & Cremation Centre (519) 623-1290.
