Barbara “Bonnie” Suggs, 81, of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2025. She was born on June 18, 1944, in Bath, Maine, and raised in Bangor, Maine. Bonnie graduated from Hudson College in 1964.
On April 3, 1965, Bonnie married John Suggs. As a proud Air Force spouse, she embraced a life of travel, moving with John to several duty stations including Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska; Dayton, Ohio; Portsmouth, New Hampshire; and Presque Isle, Maine. During these years, they were blessed with two children, a daughter, Kathryne Sue, and a son, Troy Andrew. In 1976, the family settled permanently in Pennsylvania.
Bonnie spent much of her professional career working in accounting within the automotive industry—a natural fit given her lifelong passion for fast, classic cars. Over the years, she owned an impressive collection that included a 1965 GTO, 1965 Cutlass 442, 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado, Mustang Saleen, and several Camaros, including a 2002 Camaro Anniversary Edition. In her later years, Bonnie discovered a new passion for motorcycles. She purchased a 2021 Can-Am, which she proudly rode for three years, enjoying the trails of Morris, Pennsylvania, as well as sightseeing adventures in Florida.
Always young at heart, Bonnie lived her life with kindness and compassion and raised her children by those same values. She formed many long-lasting and meaningful friendships throughout her life.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Kathryne Sue Bochniak, and her husband, Jamie Bochniak; her son, Troy Suggs, and his wife, Michele Suggs; her grandchildren, Dustin, Brandon, Devin, and great grandchildren Sophia, and Madeline (Maddie); and her older sister, Judy Shanaberger. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Suggs, and her younger sister, Susan Beaulieu.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 19, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., followed by a service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Neill Funeral Home in Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania for their compassionate care and support. Memorial contributions may be made in Bonnie’s memory to Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, 1320 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
