

She was born July 14, 1923, in Grindstone, PA, the daughter of John and Stella Nebraska. She graduated from Redstone High School, and moved to Harrisburg, PA upon her marriage to Charles Wayne Murray on December 24, 1942. She worked as an insurance adjustor for Hartford Life Insurance Co. in Harrisburg and as an insurance adjustor at the Commonwealth of PA where she retired at age 62.
Eleanor’s life centered around her beloved family, neighbors, friends, and dogs, Spotty, Schatzie, Molly, and Molly Murray. Her interest included her home decorating, houseplants, her outdoor gardening, and lawn work. She also volunteered at the Holy Spirit Hospital for many years. In addition to volunteering, she loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, crossword puzzles, knitting, and cross stitch embroidery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Wayne Murray; her parents, John and Stella Nebraska; her brother, James Nebraska; her sisters, Victoria Grottola, and Margaret Hartley.
Eleanor is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine N. Adams and the Honorable Fred C. Adams of Uniontown, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Neill Funeral Home in Camp Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg.
