She was born July 4, 1951 in St. Clair, PA, daughter of Edward and Agnes (Liptok) Twardzik. She was also preceded in death by her brother James Twardzik of Philadelphia.
Joan was a graduate of Pottsville Nativity High School and Penn State University with a BS in Journalism.
Joan was an employee of IBM for over 27 years, spending most of her time as a marketing manager. After retiring from IBM, she became an independent consultant working with many small businesses looking to do business with the State of Pennsylvania.
She was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church Mechanicsburg where she spent some time on the parish council.
Joan enjoyed spending time on Longboat Key off Sarasota Florida, which she considered her second home.
Survived by her husband, Douglas Danko, daughter Megan, son Jonathan, all of Mechanicsburg, and her brother Robert Twardzik of Allentown, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
