Born on June 2, 1935 in Shiremanstown, PA; June was the second daughter of Howard and Thelma (Tippett) Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Doris Weaver.
Surviving are her husband of 66+ years, Ronald E., a daughter, Kelly Frear, a son, Jeffrey E. (Jolene), five grandchildren, Joshua Weaver, Jonathan and Margaret Sims, and Abraham and Gabriel Frear.
After graduating from West Shore High School, Lemoyne, in 1953, June worked for the Bell Telephone Co. in Harrisburg. She left the Bell to raise her family, and after successfully doing that, she worked part time for the Patriot-News at their Camp Hill office.
Pinochle was always a part of June’s social life. In addition to many card clubs, she enjoyed friendly, but cut throat, games with family.
June was an active member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lemoyne. In the 1960s she and Ron were adult leaders of Trinity’s sr. high youth group. Later she was a long-time member of the Worship and Music Committee where she led the Altar Guild and secured greeters.
Most of all, June loved and enjoyed her family and, in return, was much loved and enjoyed by them.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00am on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church; 509 Hummel Ave, Lemoyne, PA 17043. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am. Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery; 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
