

Michael P. McGinley, 68, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on April 14, 2017 at Messiah Lifeways. Mike had a generous soul, a quick smile, and wonderful sense of humor. He was a gifted story teller and possessed a remarkable ability to recite limericks. Above all, Mike cherished the time spent with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Born in Kittanning, PA on August 28, 1948, he was the son of the late Thomas and Ruth McGinley. Mike was a retired attorney, a graduate of Penn State and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, and worked for Highmark, Health Guard and Capital Blue Cross during his career. He was a longtime volunteer and former Chairman of the Board of Members 1st Credit Union. He served on the Board of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Ruth Anne Garrison McGinley, and his three children. His son Michael, and his wife, Adrienne of Mechanicsburg; his son Matthew and his wife, Beth of Pleasantville, NY; and his daughter Margaret Steinour and her husband, Erik of Mechanicsburg. He was the “Papa” and doting grandfather of Michael III, Katherine, Finnegan, Gavin, Austin and Tenley. He is also survived by his brothers, Thomas McGinley of Carlisle and James McGinley of Pittsburgh.
A viewing will be held on Monday, April 17th from 5-8 PM at Neill Funeral Home 3401 Market St. Camp Hill. The funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, at 10:30 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church 3435 E. Trindle Rd. Camp Hill. In lieu of flowers, Mike would ask that you impart a random act of kindness on someone truly in need, and/or make a memorial donation to Messiah Lifeways, Hospice of Central PA or Church of the Good Shepherd, Camp Hill, PA.
