He was born October 18, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, to Nano and Irene (Schultz) Nanov.
Pete studied engineering at the Pennsylvania State University, where he met his wife, Diane. Pete and Diane began their lives together in San Francisco, California, and eventually settled in Mechanicsburg. He was a devoted husband and dedicated father who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to Penn State football games (We Are!), listening to music, and fishing. Pete worked as a civil engineer for the Federal Highway Administration for thirty-two years, but still found time to coach his children’s soccer teams.
Pete is preceded in death by his father, Nano and his father-in-law, Paul Hummel.
Surviving Pete are his loving wife, Diane; son, Peter; daughter, Lisa; his mother, Irene; sister, Katherina Nanov- Schwehr and husband Helmut Schwehr of Zell im Wiesental, Germany; nephews Friedrich Schwehr and wife Alesia, Tonio Schwehr and wife Aidan, and Konrad Schwehr; and mother-in-law, Ruth Hummel.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 27, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Timothy Evangelical Lutheran Church; 4200 Carlisle Pike, Camp Hill, PA 17011. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at 1:00 p.m. at Rolling Green Cemetery; 1811 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, Pa 17011.
