
He was born in Lehighton, PA, the son of the late Charles H. and Marie T. Bayer.
He attended WTI (Now Penn College of Technology Penn State) at Williamsport, Pa and had been employed by Gannett, Fleming Transportation Engineers for 40 years retiring in 1989 as a Senior Highway Designer.
He was a member of VFW Post 7415, in New Cumberland, American Legion Post 109, in Mechanicsburg Navy League. He served in the Navy in World War II.
Mr. Bayer was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy M. Bayer in 2004.
He is survived by his sons: David A., of Baltimore, MD, Charles D., of Mechanicsburg, his daughter in law Jane Bayer, granddaughter, Jordan of Baltimore, MD, sisters: Audrey and Barbara of Whitehall, PA and Kathleen of Bethlehem, PA.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at 11:00 Am, from Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, PA, with viewing from 10:00 to 11:00. Burial will be in Paxtang Cemetery Harrisburg.
