
He was born on June 10, 1928 in Harrisburg, PA to the late William Henry, Jr. and Margaret Mowery Cleckner. He was a graduate of Camp Hill High School, Mercersburg Academy and Lafayette College.
Bill Cleckner worked in the family business, Harrisburg Hardware Store, for thirteen years before joining AMP, Incorporated, from which he retired in 1986.
He was a Phi Delta Theta alum from Lafayette College; a Charter Member of the Church of the Good Shepherd and the Camp Hill Athletic Booster Club; coach of Camp Hill Teener Baseball and president of Camp Hill Legion Baseball, and member of the AMP Retiree Assoc.
Bill is survived by his wife of 63 years, Evelyn (Conpropst) Cleckner, three sons: William IV and wife Ann Marie of Carlisle; Frederick and wife Carole of Camp Hill; Michael and wife Teresa of Mechanicsburg. His grandchildren: William V and partner Gloria; James and wife Stephanie; Eric and wife Emily; Matthew; Kurtis; Michael; Chelsey and Ricci. Also his Great Grandchildren: Brady; Charlotte and Drew.
He was preceded in death by infant son John, sister, Margaret Ralston, and daughter-in-law, Pamela.
The family will receive visitors at the Neill Funeral Home, 3401 Market St. Camp Hill, on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 from 6–8 pm. A funeral mass will be held Thursday April 9, 2015 at 11 am. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to mass.
