son of Doug and Gwen; brother of Robert(Michelle); and father of Matthew. He is also survived by many Aunts, uncles and Cousins from across Canada.
Jim was born and raised in Campbell River. He grew up enjoying fishing
and hunting. Jim found his passion for guiding on the west coast of
Vancouver Island. He did this for the past 15 years, making many good friends.
In the off season he found employment as a deckhand where he was developing and learning new skills. Jim was a hard working man who enjoyed working on his toys as much as driving them. He was skilled at
operating boats, quads and all vehicles.
One of his favourite activities involved a pail of fresh picked oysters,
a fire pit, a few beers and good friends.
Mothers Day was spent with family hiking the Oyster River or trout
fishing Echo or Cedar Lakes. A favourite pastime was sharing with
family and friends the peace, beauty and thrill of fishing Nootka Sound.
He was always outside and he loved duck hunting with his Dad and brother on the farm in Black Creek.
Jim lived with a smile and a spark for life that could brighten your
day. He had a heart that never judged and always wanted to help. An
attribute that many have described to us when speaking of Jim was
sociable. We will miss you and think of you always.
A special thanks to all Jim’s family and friends who have reached out during this difficult time to offer so much love, support and care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
