
It is with great sadness to announce that Kenneth Ian McRann, 78 years old, passed away peacefully, on January 13, 2026. He was surrounded by family members at the Campbell River Hospital. Ken was born on August 10, 1947 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, and adopted by Orville & Louise McRann.
Ken is survived by his wife Edie, son Mark (Gera), and daughter Tammy. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren Melanie (Jerrad), Venessa (Ryan), Matthew, Brandon, Alexis (Dan), Ben (Kristina), and his 10 great grandchildren.
Ken worked nearly 40 years at Elk Falls Mill until his retirement in 2007. Ken was a hard working, dedicated man and provided greatly for his family. After Ken retired, he was often found in his wood shop or outside doing yard work.
Ken loved his family, and they were the joy of his life. He was actively involved with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved to go fishing, boating, camping, hunting, hiking and chanterelle mushroom picking with the family.
Ken enjoyed 10-pin bowling on a league for over 35 years. He was an avid Storms hockey fan at the local arena. Ken was the president and treasurer of the Campbell River First Open Heart Society for 25 years, until his passing. He will be dearly missed by all.
The family would like to thank Dr. Friderichs, Dr. Campbell, Dr. Morrison, and staff at the Campbell River Hospital.
