Leslie (Les) Dallas Kellow, 83, passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on June 27th, 2024, at the Campbell River Hospital surrounded by friends and family. Les was born April 12,1941, in Port Alberni, to Alfred and Pauline Kellow. Les was a visionary, immersing himself in a life surrounded by ornate antiques. Les ran his store, Willow Point Old and New, for over 40 years. His friends and customers were blessed to know and meet him. His stories and history lessons shared glimpses into the past. He generously sent artifacts to museums on and off the island. Les never married. He lived his life in Campbell River and built his own family through loving friends that became part of his daily routine. He is survived by his younger brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Louise Kellow, their four children Ian (Kim), Sarah (Mark), Graeme and Ivy, his great nieces and nephews Cassidy, Keenan, Taylor, Samuel, Austin, Cordelia, and Ashlynn. Although this loss is felt deeply, Les’ memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
An afternoon tea will be held in Les’ memory on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm at the Campbell River, Community Centre. Please come prepared to share your memories of Les.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Les' memory to the Campbell River Museum.
