It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynda.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Glen Woodhead; her daughters, Melissa Woodhead and Katherine Johnson (William Johnson); her son, Patrick Woodhead (Larissa Woodhead); and her cherished grandson, Noah Johnson. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Carazza (Lou Carazza), and her in-laws: Nancy Jonganeel (Jack), Gail Forman (Doug), and Ray Woodhead.
Lynda was a proud and devoted grandmother who found immense joy in her grandson. She was known for her warmth and generosity—there was always a place at her table, especially during the holidays, for anyone who needed one. She deeply loved her family and close friends, embracing life with kindness, compassion, and joy. She was the heart of our family and brought a special magic to every gathering.
Lynda was a dedicated teacher in North Vancouver, where she founded the Youth Learning Center to support students in need of an alternative learning environment. She was also actively involved with the BCTF and NVTA.
Following her retirement, Lynda and her husband settled in Campbell River, where they enjoyed time with family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future
Requiescat
Tread lightly, she is near
Under the snow,
Speak gently, she can hear
The daisies grow.
All her bright golden hair
Tarnished with rust,
She that was young and fair
Fallen to dust.
Lily-like, white as snow,
She hardly knew
She was a woman, so
Sweetly she grew.
Coffin-board, heavy stone,
Lie on her breast,
I vex my heart alone,
She is at rest.
Peace, Peace, she cannot hear
Lyre or sonnet,
All my life's buried here,
Heap earth upon it.
