Barbara Gauvin

Barbara was born on March 21, 1971, in Dalhousie, NB to Colleen Labillois and the late Edgar Gauvin.

Barbie worked as an Executive Assistant at Dalhousie University for 15 years followed by 11 years at Eel River Bar Band Office. She volunteered for many committees, Powwow Committee, Restigouche Regional Museum, Harbour Authority, Dalhousie Centennial Library, Regional Pastoral Council, St John Bosco Choir, Administrative council for St. John Bosco, Epilepsy Association, and Tree of Hope. She loved crafts, crochet, and knitting. Most of all she loved conversations with everyone she met and knew.

She is survived by her sisters; Donna Gauvin (Kevin Degrace), Tanya Gauvin (Steven Valdron) and Erin (Cory) Barnaby. Her nieces and nephews; Michelle, Jaden, Ethan, Gabe, Tapu’ewei, Arianna, Amelia, Brooke, McKenna and grand-niece Allura. Her beloved dogs Skylar, Emma and parrot Gandalf.

A Funeral Service will be held at St. John Bosco Church in Dalhousie on Monday, January 26, 2026 at 2:00 pm.

For those who wish to make a donation can be made to the Tree of Hope in her memory.

Décédée à l'Hôpital Régional de Campbellton, le vendredi, 16 janvier 2026 à l'âge de 54 ans, Mme Barbara Gauvin, de Eel River Crossing, épouse de Marcel Ouellette.

Barbara est née le 21 mars 1971 à Dalhousie, au Nouveau-Brunswick, de Colleen Labillois et du regretté Edgar Gauvin.

Barbie a travaillé comme adjointe de direction à l'Université Dalhousie pendant 15 ans, puis pendant 11 ans au bureau de la band d'Eel River Bar. Elle a fait du bénévolat pour de nombreux comités, notamment le comité du pow-wow, le musée régional de Restigouche, l'autorité portuaire, la bibliothèque du centenaire de Dalhousie, le conseil pastoral régional, la chorale St John Bosco, le conseil administratif de St. John Bosco, l'association contre l'épilepsie et Tree of Hope. Elle aimait l'artisanat, le crochet et le tricot, mais par-dessus tout, elle aimait discuter avec toutes les personnes qu'elle rencontrait et connaissait.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses sœurs; Donna Gauvin (Kevin Degrace), Tanya Gauvin (Steven Valdron) et Erin (Cory) Barnaby, ses nièces et neveux; Michelle, Jaden, Ethan, Gabe, Tapu'ewei, Arianna, Amelia, Brooke, McKenna et sa petite-nièce Allura, ainsi que ses chiens bien-aimés Skylar, Emma et son perroquet Gandalf.

Les funérailles auront lieu à l'église St. John de Bosco à Dalhousie le lundi 26 janvier 2026 à 14 h.

Pour ceux qui le souhaitent, un don peut être fait à l’Arbre de l’Espoir en sa mémoire.
