

Benny was the youngest of six children. He had three older brothers Sidney, Freddie and Chaim. Then there were the twins Sonya and Joseph.
Benjamin's parents were Clara and Herman Bilgrai. They lived in the The Netherlands. During World War II the family had to escape the The Netherlands to get away from the Nazi's.
Benny and his brother Chaim were hidden in a church in France during World War II. After the war ended Ben's mother and the four youngest children moved to Israel. Ben's father died soon after they escaped from The Netherlands. Benny spent several years living and working on a Kibbutz in northern Israel. He also served in the Israeli army as a policeman.
In 1962 Benny moved to the United States and lived near his brother Freddie in Los Angeles. Benny started his Chief Fire Protection fire extinguishing business a few years later, which he owned and operated for 53 years until the time of his death.
Benny and Evelyn, his wife enjoyed a happy life together. Their favorite thing to do was cruising. They cruised two weeks out of each month and had traveled all over the world.
Ben had two sons, Michael Bilgrai and Sidney Bilgrai, who both live in Los Angeles.
Ben was a people person and loved being with friends and talking with his customers. He was helpful to others and had a kind heart. He is deeply loved by many and will always be remembered.
